Hey, guys! My name is Dice Rollen & today I have a list of some of the most haunted cemeteries in America. People will lay their loved ones to rest in places like these, but it more cases than you may think they don’t rest peacefully.
So without further ado, these are my top 10 most haunted cemeteries in the United States
Bachelor’s Grove in Chicago
This cemetery is considered to be especially creepy because of it’s seemingly abandoned look. It sits in the woods with nothing else around it. It’s also considered to be the most haunted cemetery in the world. You could very well see a woman sitting on a tombstone while visiting there.
Boot Hill in Tombstone
A location where it’s not surprising to experience paranormal activity. Here you stand a good chance of being able to capture a spirit in a photo or being confronted by a less than friendly ghost. A lot of grave markers that you’ll find in this cemetery are labeled “unknown” as well.
Resurrection Cemetery in Chicago
The name of this cemetery should be more than enough of a clue to let you know what you’re in for if you visit. The most well known ghost that you could meet here is Resurrection Mary who is said to have been hit by a car just outside the cemetery while hitchhiking. Thus she continues to hitchhike with anyone who stops to help her & asks to be dropped off at the gates of the cemetery she’s buried in. Another ghost who wanders here is a little girl who also hitchhikes, but will disappear once anyone gets close.
Witches Cemetery in Tennesee
This is the oldest graveyard in the state & it’s hidden in the backwoods. Each gravestone has a pentagram carved into it because each grave belongs to a supposed witch. There have been reports of lights seen at night & animals being sacrificed in the cemetery.
Hollywood Forever in Los Angeles
If seeing a ghost isn’t quite enough for you you can always visit this cemetery where many famous individuals were laid to rest. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still spot them wandering the grounds in all their glamorous fashion. Such people as Mel Blanc, Ed Gardner, Estelle Getty & a memorial to Hattie McDaniel.
Howard Street Cemetery in Salem
Obviously there are a lot of haunted or just plain eerie places in Massachusetts because of the Witch Trials alone. And this cemetery is no different, but still manages to stand out. Giles Corey is the most likely to be seen here. He was accused of witchcraft & refused to plead guilty or innocence which actually bought him some time. Not much though as he was pressed to death by means of heavy rocks being place on him till he died two days later. He had cursed the sheriff & the town of Salem before he died. There is no known gravestone for him, but there is a memorial marker.
St. Louis #1 Cemetery in New Orleans
This cemetery is the oldest of the three separate cemeteries in Louisiana. Here you can find the tomb of the Voodoo Queen herself, Marie Laveau. And maybe you’ll even see Marie as she strolls through the over 700 tombs there. Tours are a common activity & visitors are welcome, but try not to piss off Marie while you’re there.
Cemetery Hill in Gettysburg
It makes complete sense that the place of one of the bloodiest battles of US history would be teeming with ghostly activity. However it’s this cemetery in Gettysburg National Military Park that seems to be the most active with the apparitions of Civil War soldiers
Western Burial Ground in Baltimore
This is the cemetery where Edgar Alan Poe himself is buried & in quite a few unfortunate cases people who weren’t actually dead were laid to rest here too. Of the many different kinds of spirits you could encounter here, a good many of them are angry & vengeful. There’s also the rumor of a minister’s skull being buried here & several people have reported hearing screams that could be coming from that same skull.
Stull Cemetery in Kansas
Otherwise known as the Seventh Gate of Hell, this cemetery is known for a lot of things. Mysterious lights & orbs can be seen at different times of the year, the ghost of a witch who will curse at you if you step on her grave. There is an abandoned church there too where it’s said that if you knock on one of the stones of what’s left of the church the devil will answer. And just to add to the creepiness the Pope refuses to have the plane he’s flying in go over this cemetery.
And that was my list of ten of the most haunted cemeteries in America.
I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did give it a like to let me know. And don’t forget to leave a comment down, do you agree with this list?
