Top 10 Disturbing Childhood Characters

Hey, guys! Dice Rollen here with a list of some of the scariest faces from your childhood. These are the fictional characters that you were afraid were hiding in your closet or under your bed every night. So prepare to take a visit to the corner of childhood trauma & reawakened nightmares because these are ten of the most disturbing childhood characters.

#10

Willy Wonka from Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Yes, he’s the owner of a fantastic factory of chocolate & sweets. But think about it, he invites children into said factory & doesn’t care that a majority of them were likely killed. Granted that was kind of their own fault. But don’t forget about that acid trip in the tunnel. Personally I think it would be fun to come on the intercom of a plane during turbulence & start reciting that little song of his.

#9

Blue Thing from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was a nightmare fueling series just by itself & honestly I could’ve made this whole list with just characters from the cartoon. However I know for a fact this…thing in particular caused lots of scarring when it was seen. Even though it was only on the screen for a few seconds it stuck in the minds of children everywhere for weeks.

#8

Nobody from Sesame Street.
Now this is a character that you may not have known was in Sesame Street at some point. And the reason for that is because somebody realized that it probably wasn’t very…kid friendly. Nobody was literally a disembodied, animated character who consisted of two eyes & a mouth made of rubber bands. Who taught kids how to count to ten. Kind of ironic he’s on this list huh?

#7

Sid’s Toys from Toy Story.
These were toys that looked like they were created by Doctor Frankenstein in his early years. They were a look into an obviously disturbed mind. And they also haunted the minds of several kids’ after seeing the movie.

#6

Him from the Powerpuff Girls.
Apparently the devil does wear prada. It’s pretty much obvious that this is the devil who wants nothing more than the bring an end to the Powerpuff Girls however he feels in necessary. Combine that with his voice & ability to talk through toys, it makes a pretty childhood scarring character.

#5

The Greedy from Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure.
This is a character made entirely of taffy & candy…which he eats. Which means he’s probably going to eat himself to death at some point. And let’s not forget that when Raggedy Ann mentions she has a candy heart Greedy’s immediate reaction is cut it out & eat it. Let me repeat that, he wanted to cut out her heart & eat it in front of an audience of children!

#4

Judge Doom from Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.
So here we have Christopher Lloyd filling out the dark & ominous villain quite well. Not only that but we see him murder a cartoon shoe by melting it in acid. And the whole cartoon bug eyes don’t help at all.

#3

Voldemort from Harry Potter.
Since a lot of us grew up with Harry Potter I thought I’d include this guy on the list. The first time we see him, he’s just a face attached the another guy’s head like a parasite. Then we see him as a man fetus & finally he’s reborn as a much more terrifying & intimidating figure. And I’m sure my brother isn’t the only one who cried when he first saw him.

#2

Animatronic band characters.
All Five Nights at Freddy’s references aside, I’m sure every person has experienced the horror that is cheap aniamtronics at some point in their younger years. And I’m sure if someone had told you that they were possessed you probably would’ve believed them without hesitation. Hell, I believe it now. Any child entertainment/food business that has these may hold nostalgia but they also a lot of repressed nightmares.

#1

The Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
What’s more creepy than this face? The fact that it belongs to a grown man who lures children with candy so he can kidnap them from their parents… He acts like a cheerful character but that’s what makes it even creepier when you know his intentions. This is a pretty much timeless fear of not just children, but adults too. To be promises something sweet & fun only to be taken away to who knows where & never seen by your family again.

And that was my top ten list of disturbing childhood characters. I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did give it a like to let me know!
